In this week's sports news: ● Independent shuttler Goh Jin Wei has been promoted from the reserve list to play in the Malaysia Open replacing Iris Wang after the United States shuttler withdrew from the Malaysia Open. Jin Wei will most likely face Yvonne Li of Germany in the first round and An Se-young of South Korea in the second. ● Shuttler Ng Tze Yong will be making his second appearance in the Malaysia Open. He is currently ranked 28th and is able to play in the super 1000 event. However it might not be an easy path as he might face Lee Zii Jia or Kodai from Japan. ● Liverpool has officially signed Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven. Liverpool will pay £37m plus add-ons, up to £50m potential package for Gakpo as first 2023 signing. ● Chelsea has now reached a full agreement to sign David Datro Fofana. The Ivory Coast national player will be paid around €12m. David was formerly playing for Norwegian club Molde. ● The Nets has found their rhythm after a hectic year filled with controversy. Both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are playing at their best this season with both scoring 32 points a piece during the Cavs game. ● Kevin Durant continues to achieve great accolades as he overtakes Tim Duncan for the 15th all time scoring list and passing the great Kobe Bryant for 21st in career 3 pointers.
