[ Long post ahead ] While digging through our photo albums, we found this, one of the first photos we took of our marshmallows when we first started almost 10 years ago. Back in those days we only had 5 (or was it 6?) flavours, matcha marshmallows was still around and chocolate marshmallows didn't have that pretty marbling swirl it has today. 😆 It's been almost 10 years of hustling and honestly can't believe we're still doing this. 😅 The memories of those sleepless nights and panic we had during the first few years, worrying about cash flows, supplies, staffing, and the thought of no one will ever buy what we do, were still vivid. It was a time of self-doubt with the excitement of slipping into something unknown. The past 1 1/2 years have been really difficult. We're slipping into a similar feeling, except with more uncertainties and almost no sight of light at the end of the tunnel. But this time around things are also better in so many ways. We have great business acquaintances who were helpful in those days and continue to support us in many ways. We have forever supportive customers who would either drop by (in-store or online) to pick up a thing or two, or recommend what we do to someone who might need. And we have a group of super efficient crews working tirelessly to maintain the operation at our cafe and production kitchen. Sure we have had to shove some of our plans in the drawer, and re-endure the sleepless nights. But hopefully things can be more settled as we move along and when they finally do, we can still pick up what's left behind. It's safe to say for now that this Covid-19 is going to stay. It sucks. But there's probably nothing we can do. The best defense would be to get ourselves vaccinated, and educated. The new norm will be different, because, well, it's the new norm. But don't forget to love, and definitely don't forget to live. We'll all just have to do our part, deal with it and continue to move on. ❤ Until then. Stay safe, and stay healthy.
