In this week's sports news: ● Malaysia's diving queen Pandelela Rinong Pamg won the bronze medal in the women's 10 metre platform at the 2022 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. She will be competing in the women's 10m platform synchronised event with her partner, Nur Dhabitah Sabri on Thursday, defending the silver medal which she won with her previous partner Datuk Leong Mun Yee in 2019. ● Malaysia is showing a promising start in the doubles as five pairs advanced to the second round of the Malaysian Open currently held in Bukit Jalil. The Badminton Association of Malayia's men's doubles pair Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani join independent duos Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi and Tan kian Meng-Tan Wee Kien in the second round. In the mixed doubles, independent pair Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie and Low Yuan Yeen-Valeree Siow also makes it into the second round. Gareth Bale will most likely debut against David Beckham's former club LA Galaxy on July 8. Bale will also be playing in the upcoming World Cup 2022 held in Qatar. ● Man City and Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus is having a medical at Arsenal before the £45 million move from Manchester City. He previously worked with Arsenal manager Arteta during Arteta's time in City. Arsenal's manager looks to improve his side's attacking following the departures of forwards Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on free transfers. Arsenal has signed midfielder Fabio Vieira from Porto for £34.2 million. ● The 2022 NBA Draft recently concluded and the Orlando Magic drafted forward Paolo Banchero for the No.1 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. Whereas OKC Thunder drafted centre Chet Holmgren for the No.2 overall pick and Houston Rockets drafted forward Jabari Smith JR. in the No.3 overall pick. ● Will Turner will be leaving the Celtics as assistant coach to Utah Jazz as a head coach replacing Quin Snyder after a successful tenure with the Celtics.
