Lentils are high in fiber and are an excellent plant-based source of protein!​ #TefalMY #TefalMalaysia #Multicooker #PressureCooker #RayaRecipe ​ Tefal Home Chef Smart Pro IH Multicooker CY638D: https://bit.ly/3lz3Hg9 RRP: RM1,439​ Recipe from Nutritionist Indra Balaratnam ​[RECIPE]​ LAMB & VEGETABLE DHAL​ Preparation time: 20 minutes​ Cooking time: 45 minutes​ Serves: 8 pax​ Ingredients: ​ 600 grams of lamb shoulder – trim off all visible fat ​ 1cup (225g) of raw split Bengal gram lentil (chana dhal) ​ 2 medium of tomatoes (250 grams) – diced finely ​ 150 grams of yellow onion – finely chopped ​ 1 inch of fresh ginger – finely minced ​ 2 green chillies – thinly sliced ​ 2 red chili – thinly sliced ​ 150 grams of long bean – cut into 3-inch pieces ​ 120 grams of carrot – cut into 3-inch pieces ​ 700 ml of water ​ 1 Tablespoon of cooking oil ​ Salt to taste ​ Chopped coriander to garnish ​ Spices: ​ 1 ½ teaspoons of cumin seeds (jintan putih) ​ ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder ​ 1 ½ teaspoons of chili powder ​ 4 teaspoons of garam masala ​ 2 teaspoon of ginger powder ​ 1 cinnamon stick ​ Method: ​ 1. Soak the chana dhal in water for about 15 minutes. Drain and set aside.​ 2. Marinate the cubed lamb with 2 teaspoon of garam masala and 2 teaspoon ginger powder for at least 30 minutes. (Marinate for longer if you have the time).​ 3. Leave the lid open and set to Saute/Sear for 20 minutes. Press Start.​ 4. Gently heat the oil and add the cumin seeds and lightly saute till fragrant.​ 5. Saute the cut green chilies, red chilies and chopped onion until the onion is translucent.​ 6. Stir in the finely minced ginger, chopped tomatoes, and turmeric powder. Cook for about 7 minutes until the tomatoes are soft. ​ 7. Add the chili powder, remainder 2 teaspoons garam masala and cinnamon stick and stir well.​ 8. Stir in the marinated lamb and mix well with the spices. Cook for about 5 minutes to sear the meat.​ 9. Add in the chana dhal. Then slowly pour in the water and stir to mix well.​ 10. Cancel the Saute/Sear function. Close the lid and lock it. Press the “Add Ingredients” feature. Set to preset Pressure Cook Beef/Lamb function. Press Start. ​ 11. When the machine beeps to add ingredients, unlock and open the lid. Add in the cut carrots and long beans. Close and lock the lid and press start again to continue cooking till cycle completes.​ 12. When completed, open the lid and season with salt to taste. ​ 13.
