Reunion with Shangri-La⁣ This festive period, we at Shangri-La would like to remind those impacted by separation, that you have us. No matter how far you are, you’re still part of the Shangri-La Family.⁣ Meet Suleiman Tunku Abdul Rahman, our Director of Communications shares that his biggest dream now is to gather everyone in one place, have a meal and reconnect. Here's what he had to say: "Celebrating festive seasons with loved ones is among life's greatest pleasures. Having little ones running around or elderly relatives lavishing us with homemade treats are what great memories are made of. But many of us took it for granted, as the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent travel restrictions have shown. I come from a big family spread across all four corners of Peninsular Malaysia. When my parents were alive, we had a tradition of gathering in Penang every festive season. They enjoyed listening to us sharing about the latest happenings in our lives, from our education to careers and later our own adventures in parenthood! Though my parents have gone on to a better place, we still have some elderly uncles and aunties around who yearn for the simple thing of seeing us again. Even the little ones keep asking when they'll get to meet grannies, uncles and aunts again. Whilst we do communicate via phones and video calls, it is just not the same as being there in person. Few would've imagined that one day, the biggest dream one could have is simply to gather everyone in one place, have a meal together and reconnect."
