A breast mammogram is a common screening option for breast cancer which uses low dose X ray to produce images of the breast (1). Here’s a guide on how often you should get a breast mammogram based on your age (2) : - If you’re aged between 50 74, get screened every 2 years. - If you’re aged between 30 59 and are at high risk of breast cancer, get screened every year. - If you’re aged 60 and above and are at high risk of breast cancer, get screened every two years. Different people may show different symptoms, while some may not show any signs or symptoms at all. With regular screening, there’s a better chance of detecting the cancer early for timely treatment and consequently, a higher chance of survival.
