MAHSA INTERNATIONAL HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM CONFERENCE (MI-HOST 2023) Mi-Host 2023 was held today 17th March 2023. We started of the event with a wonderful opening speech by Associate Professor Dr. Syriac the Conference Chair and Dean of the Faculty of Business, Hospitality, Accounting and Finance. We proceeded with our first keynote address by Dr Souji Gopalakrishna Pillai from Auburn University Alabama, USA with his address titled Redefining Hospitality: The Next Era of Guest Experiences with Hospitality 5.0. His insightful presentation touched on various key points such as the vulnerability of the hospitality industry, Hospitality 5.0 in a customers journey and post covid recovery measures. We then had our second keynote address by Ms Rajesvare K.D Rada from HELP University Malaysia with her presentation titled Sustainable Development of Tourism in Malaysia, where she touched the audience with her showcase of the various measures that the government of Malaysia has taken to ensure sustainability in the tourism sector of Malaysia. And finally our third keynote address by Associate Professor Dr. Soney Haris from the Department of Commerce and Management St. Joseph's College of Commerce Bengaluru City University Bangalore Karnataka, India. Her eye opening address on Sustainable Tourism and its Impact on Planet Earth was spectacular and on point to raise awareness that tourism is just beginning to show how much a country has to offer not just the residents but also the world. All three keynote speakers were very enthusiastic in delivering their speeches and it truly captivated the audience present physically and online. The following session was the presentation of students research posters. The first group consisting of Gan Cixuan, Chia Shi Yi and Low Jing Lin was titled Social Media & the Hospitality Industry. With their poster highlighting what a great impact social media has on the hospitality industry. And with social media the industry itself has learnt to adapt to the ever changing trends on this age. The second second group consisting of Wazed Aftahi and Anis Natasha was titled Smart Technology Application in Hospitality and Tourism. With their poster highlighting the various advancement that the Hospitality Industry has made to better adapt to current technology, from smart hotels to VR/AR implications and the use of AI controlled chatbots. Both groups presented their posters greatly and acknowledged that the industry is ever changing to serve tourism better for the community. With that our conference came to an end with the closing speech by Associate Professor Dr Syriac the conference chair and dean of the Faculty of Business, Hospitality, Accounting and Finance. #Mihost #MAHSA #Hospitality #Tourism #Sustainability #Conference
