Event: Connectivity sculpture exhibition Date: 15 November 2021 - 2 January 2022 Venue: The Square Ramlan Abdullah is a pioneer sculptor in Malaysia. He also serves as an associate professor at UiTM. He believes sculpture serves many functions and characteristics such as relationship, place, time, form, image, landmark, metaphor, signs and symbols. Throughout his career, he has produced from large-scale to intimate-sized sculptures which are mostly produced with metal. His important mark was when he collaborated with international sculptors to produce a colossal ‘Keris’ sculpture at Stadium Bukit Jalil for the XVI Commonwealth Games in 1998. Part of his plan for this year’s installation, Ramlan is producing 5 exclusive mid-sized sculptures which are for sale and suitable to be displayed at public areas. The Square, Publika is the most appropriate venue to display his latest body of works due to the area’s traffic and visitor’s interest.
