Title: Shooting for conservation Description: I’m constantly on the lookout to document interesting wildlife behaviour. These visual data of natural behaviours progresses the world of science and to understand our wild gems to further conserve them. And most importantly, they were all done while respecting the environment. Through the valley over a lake, the Wallace’s hawk eagle lifts its prey away from the scene of the crime, notice how it’s tucked the head of the rat to avoid it from retaliating and getting loose. (cropped at 200%). Nothing is getting out of this head-lock. Oh, Rats! The wet season can prove to bring some beautiful images of our wild beauties. Bears love the rain and this particular individual kept busy by pruning the tree it conquered. Gnawing and twisting away at the branch, although the smallest bear in the world, their brute strength is impressive. Grrrrrr! From that video of the Z9 going ballistic shooting handheld (200-500), is the female rhinoceros hornbill preening. Though it’s a soft at the beak, it shows the motion of preening behaviour while focus locked at its eyes! She’s pretty!
