🧼 We might be starting to forget how important it is but regular handwashing is one of the MOST important things we can do to keep healthy. However, is washing with an antibacterial wash more beneficial? Do antibacterial washes offer a higher level of protection over regular washes? The answer is no. After years of research and testing, the United States FDA determined that consumer antiseptic and antibacterial wash products (from liquid, foam, gel and bar soaps to body washes) containing a majority of the antibacterial active ingredients we know, will no longer be allowed to be marketed as such in the US. Why? Because manufacturers haven’t been able to prove that these ingredients are safe for daily use over a prolonged period of time. The antibacterial chemicals used enter our water systems, the larger environment and of course, our bodies and researchers simply don’t know their long-term effects. And, possibly most importantly, they haven’t proven that antibacterial soaps are any more effective than regular soap and water in preventing illnesses and the spread of infection. The good news? All you need to keep your hands clean and yourself and family safe is good old-fashioned soap (we recommend our natural pure olive castile washes!) and water. Get those hands rubbing for a good twenty seconds (or two rounds of ‘Happy Birthday To You’, preferably sung as loudly as possible!) and you’ve done one of the most effective things you can to keep yourself healthy! #fourcowfarm #sustainablymade #greenskincare #australianmade #supportaustralianmade #supportsmallbusiness #handmade #handcrafted #naturalskincare #organicskincare #freshlymade #naturalgifts #naturalproducts #naturalingredients #biodegradable #nonasties #eczema
