Singers like Bruno Mars very much influence him, Justin Timberlake, Michael Jackson, Freddie Mercury, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin and Jennifer Hudson. This group of virtuosos have played worldwide, sharing the stage with artists such as David Foster, Billy Cobham, Babyface, Boyz2men, Tommy Emmanuel, Joe Walsh, and Richard Marx, plus regional stars such as A-Mei, Jacky Cheung and David Tao. Covering a wide range of styles, this blues-based group play jazz, rock, funk and soul genres with a big emphasis on improvisation. JW3 is known as a world-class power trio. The various members have performed internationally with artists as diverse as Babyface, Boyz2men, David Foster, Jacky Cheung, Wang Leehom, David Tao, Joe Walsh, Dato Siti Nurhaliza, and Tommy Emmanuel, plus too many others to name. This group can be loosely defined as World fusion, combining western elements such as blues, funk and jazz with traditional Indian elements, featuring the tabla and sitar. The group is comprised of members of guitarist /composer Jamie Wilson’s two groups, the blues power trio JW3, and AkashA, Malaysia’s foremost exponent of world fusion music.
