The RANGEMAN is part of Casio’s “Master of G" series of watches designed for use in the most extreme conditions. Available in two colors, black and olive green, the new G-Shock Rangeman GPR-B1000 series is the world’s first Bluetooth enabled, multi sensor (altimeter, barometer, compass and thermometer) smartwatch that comes with a unique feature: solar-assisted GPS navigation.

Built tough like any other of its G-siblings, the Rangeman GPR-B1000 is mud, dust and water-resistant up to 200 metres with scratch-proof sapphire crystal face, ceramic case back and durable carbon fibre insert bands. While in general the watch borrows from the shape of the classic Rangeman, the GPR-B1000 is significantly larger than its predecessor, making it very chunky on smaller wrists.

The display on the GPR-B1000 is unique - a “negative display” high resolution monochromatic low-temperature LCD (that is resistant down to -20°C or -4°F), instead of the usual light background colored LCD displays. The time display is kept powered at all times using solar charging, regardless of the battery status of the watch.

Running out of battery? Lost in the wilderness? Worry not, just toss the GPR-B1000 under the hot afternoon sun for about four hours and you’ll be able to power the GPS for an hour. The Rangeman GPR-B1000’s GPS is capable of collecting location data in real-time to display the route or bearing to your destination. The watch also saves track and point data (including longitude/latitude, altitude, and temperature) in memory.

Using Bluetooth®, the watch can pair with your smartphone to connect with the G-SHOCK Connected app, allowing the user to create routes or manage log data in the app. Tracks and point data saved in memory are displayed on a 3D map or as a timeline. The watch also receives data from time servers to keep accurate time anywhere in the world. From tide levels, moon-phases and even sunrise/sunset time, the GPR-B1000 is also able to provide you with variable data tracking for your other outdoor needs.

The New G-Shock Rangeman GPR-B1000 series will be coming in April 2018 with a retail price of $800 USD (RM3100+-) That price might put the watch out of reach for most but think of the G-Shock Rangeman GPR-B1000 series as more than an average G-Shock.
