Kia hasn’t done anything radical in terms of exterior styling for the new Rio, maintaining the hatchback look that is popular with the fans of the car, except for some noticeable smoother surfaces and sharper detailing. Kia’s trademark “tiger-nose” grille is thinner and shorter now, paired with restyled bi-projection headlights with built-in U-shaped LED daytime running lights. The new fog lamps below the headlights are mounted differently compared to the ones on the older generation Rio for better visual coverage.

Internally the Rio comes with restyled interiors as well, prioritising cockpit information and limits driver visual and manual distractions. The cluster presents the driver with precise up-to-date vehicle information via the Supervision Cluster with a 3.5” LCD Screen, while the centre fascia simplifies user access to a six-speaker 5” LCD infotainment centre with MP3, Bluetooth, AUX and USB functions and Full Auto Temperature Control console.

Additional features include Keyless Entry through Smart Key, Push Start Button, Rear View Camera and Automatic Rain Sensors. Safety wise, the Rio comes readily equipped with six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Assist Control, ABS and rear parking sensor as standard.

Those hoping for a 3-door Rio to finally come to Malaysia might be disappointed because only the 5-door sedan option is offered by Naza Kia.

The all-new Kia Rio is priced at RM 79,888 on the road (without insurance) and it comes with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty. The hatchback is available in four colours - Signal Red, Clear White, Silky Silver and Smoke Blue.
