Foret Blanc: Desserts to Die For

A minute we were navigating the sunny streets of Sri Petaling, the next, we were in Foret Blanc, and being whisked away to Lapland, almost. The pristine whiteness of the place, combined with cozy Christmas decor, comforting scents of cocoa, familiar Christmas tunes wafting through the air, and the sight of exquisite desserts on display were enough to make three adults giggle with glee.

Foret Blanc opened their doors to the public just over a month ago to the delight of many dessert enthusiasts in town. Their first outlet - Foret Patisserie, located in Petaling Utama, quickly became a haven for dessert lovers, where creativity takes centrestage in all their creations.

We ordered their popular Happy Polar Freezy Bowl (RM24.50) and couldn’t stop smiling when it arrived on our table - we were faced with an adorable polar bear, sitting on a pile of snowballs, with smoke from the dry ice (safely and strategically hidden) swirling around it.

Happy Polar is a concoction of different homemade ingredients and refreshingly tangy flavours - Yoghurt Lime Ice Cream, Lime Ginger Souffle with Rum, Lime Curd, Mint Crystal, Polar Bear Macaron (Pineapple Lime), Lime Marshmallow and Lime Jelly, making it perfect for a light zesty dessert after a heavy meal.

Our Breakfast Set arrived shortly after. And once again, our cameras couldn’t stop clicking. This dessert reimagines the Malaysia’s favourite breakfast set. We had so much fun digging our spoons into everything on the plate and exploring all the different flavours!

The “toast” was waffles with homemade kaya, salted peanut butter milk cubes, topped with nestum, and complemented with teh tarik ice cream. For “coffee”, we had Nescafe creme brulee where the crispy, burnt sugar went extremely well with the Nescafe custard. The “half-boiled egg” looked unbelievably real too! It is actually coconut mousse with passion mango filling wrapped with a thin layer of chocolate to make up the ‘egg shell’. The ‘soy sauce’ came in the form of gula Malacca and we discovered that it goes rather perfectly with the waffles.

Lastly, we had the affogato. Foret Blanc’s Affogato isn’t just your typical espresso and ice cream. Thanks to the embedded cubes of cake next to the ice cream, it resulted in a nice crunch and flavour to every bite.

Foret Blanc takes pride in all their beautiful crafted sugary creations and that can be deeply felt in every homemade ingredient and in every sumptuous bite. We can’t recommend this place enough if you’re craving for a sweet fix!

Forêt Blanc Patisserie also sells French cake slices and macarons, as well as takes orders for customised cakes.
