Created in the iconic image of the climate change mascot, Hyko is a frosted white polar bear shaped lamp that is fun-filled and with soft safe touch, even cute enough for them to take to bed like a stuffed toy.
Hyko is pretty interactive for a non-articulated figure. You shake him to wake him up and tap on his head to change the colors and brightness. Using a downloadable Hyko app, you can program the hues and tell your children what they mean, for example: orange means wake up, blue means go to sleep etc. Hyko is also smart enough to go into energy-saving mode when they are not around so he won’t waste electricity himself. Beary good indeed!
Hyko’s Adventure, a digital storybook app downloadable through Apple and Google Play stores brings the child through a journey of discovery and conservation in which a super-powered polar learns how changes in energy use can help protect his species. Currently there is only one digital book but CareToSave plans on creating more stories to extend Hyko’s adventures. There are also multiple games, quizzes and lessons about electricity bundled into the app apart from Hyko’s Adventure so there’s plenty to keep your child busy for sure.
Hyko can also be set as a home energy tracking device with non-intrusive self-powered monitor that you need to attach to your home power box. Hyko will start to glow when your home energy usage rises, starting with a soft blue tone for low and shifts up to bright red when electricity consumption is high. From the lighting reminders, Hyko aims to create better awareness and help you and your family tackle energy wastages at home.
