Inside Scoop, no stranger to raving reviews of their well-loved artisanal ice-cream, took it a step further this year and created beautiful ice cream mooncakes, in four delicious flavours!
As soon as we opened the box, we were greeted with four delicate snow skin beauties in charming pastel hues. All mooncakes were enveloped in soft, sticky, chewy snow skin which nicely complemented the sweet ice cream filling within.
For chocolate lovers (meaning everyone), you’ll find much delight in the Crunchy Chocolate Hazelnut where it is filled with dark chocolate ice cream, and bits of crunchy roasted hazelnuts.
The Raspberry Cheesecake was also quite a winning combination, especially when biting into the middle to find a generous dollop of refreshingly tangy raspberry ‘yolk’
What got us really over the moon (heh) was that Inside Scoop decided to include their best selling ice-cream flavour into their mooncakes. Behold the Durian with Chocolate Yolk! Granted, chocolate and durian run the risk of overwhelming each other but in this case, they were partners in crime. What crime? Crime of having too much calories! But who’s counting?
Last but certainly not least, we tried the Hojicha mooncake. No fancy combinations, no surprise yolk in the middle, leaving us with purely unadulterated and intense flavours of the aromatic roasted green tea. Surprisingly, this quiet contender got the highest votes in the office!
