For those who grew up watching this superhero series “Ultraman”, good news! In conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the series, Circle Corp, a Malaysian company collaborated with Tsuburaya Production from Japan to debut the first ever official Ultraman-themed restaurant and store in Malaysia, located at Glo Damansara. Now, you can reminisce your childhood heroes while enjoying your meal! Besides feasting in the restaurant, there are about 300 different types of products that you can shop for at the store, from special edition figures to lunch boxes, apparels and novelty gifts.

The menu consists of Japanese and Western dishes for you to indulge in (which is what we did!), there are kid sets too! Most of the food in the menu are either designed or shaped in an Ultraman figure, providing the experience for the customers.

For starters, we had Ultraman Orb Mushroom Soup (RM16.90) served with a piece of garlic bread. The soup was hot, thick and creamy, just the way we like it!

As for mains, we’ve ordered the highly recommended “Ultraman Tiga Burger”, which is basically grilled chicken burger with fries on the side while the top bun was toasted with a design of Ultraman. Although the marination for the grilled chicken was a little on the salty side for our taste, it was nonetheless a fulfilling burger!

Next, we had Ultraman Salmon Bento with Miso Soup (RM35.80). Just like the classic bento, it comes with pan-fried salmon, fried prawn, pickles, cold japanese tofu, salad, fruits and of course, japanese rice in a shape of Ultraman.

Now comes the drinks!

If you’re looking into having a coffee that gives you the “wow” factor, well, this is the place to start with. We had Father of Ultra (Lychee) and Ultraman Mebius (Butterscotch) , both drinks for the price of RM14.90 each. Yes, they are flavored coffee! The flavor kicks in with the first sip itself. What was nice about it was the flavor of the coffee lingers in your mouth for some time, and it wasn’t too strong nor too blend.

As part of their opening promotion, you’ll also be given a free limited edition coaster (18 different designs) with certain food that you order from the menu. As for kids meals, they come with free Ultra Heroes’ stickers! To be honest, we expected the restaurant to be more themed than it was and the food was a little bit on the pricy side as well. However, the food was reasonably good and it is definitely worth the try!
