Originated in 1964, the Bata Bullets was created for the Baltimore Bullets basketball team, then it discontinued sometime in the mid-70s and later re-launched in 2016. However, the first Bata Tennis shoe was created in 1936, in India. It was initially made for school children that had enrolled in Physical Education classes. And up till this day, it is still the brand’s best-selling shoe.
The force is powerful with this collection
For this SS18 collection, the Bullets come in high-top versions in black or white canvas, with red or blue ‘Star Wars’ rubber patch on the side. It also brings matching piping around the shoe, and features the iconic lightsaber from the film at the back of the sneaker.
As for the Bata Tennis in this collection, the low-top version has been revamped with tri-colored graphics of Darth Vader, R2D2 and the Storm Trooper. Both Vader and the Trooper’s drawings are available in white, black and grey, while R2D2 comes in a fresh white, blue and grey combination.
May the force be with you as we take a walk to the darkside - to uncover these new Bata Bullets and Bata Tennis shoes.
High Top Sneakers is High Fashion
High top sneakers were traditionally reserved for the gym but, these days many celebrities have styled them differently. These cute kicks are the perfect finishing touches. So here are our two of our favourite picks from the collection:
Simple Statements
We believe that the trick to styling simple black statement trainers is to play down the rest of your outfit. Try it on with a straight-fit jeans and a very regular-looking shirt or sweatshirt will do. Also, try to make sure that the tones that you play around with are neutral, to ensure that you achieve the look that you are going for. Moreover, since the kicks already have a Star Wars patch, you might want to avoid big logos and prints, or you risk an outfit that becomes too shouty.
Clean Statements
Go with a more smart-casual look with these kicks. A slim cut jeans, a flannel shirt and worker jacket will just put this look together. Since this sneaker has a clean look thanks to its colour, you can try to experiment it a little with tailored chinos or maybe combat pants. And there you go, a casual unsloppy look!
Sneakers that will smash your look
Minimal trainers were not that much of a style booster but with the minimal movement, everything simple is a dose of good taste. So here are our two picks from the collection:
Sleek and simple
We love how clean this sneaker looks! So when styling it, make sure you keep the lines of your outfit simple too - to do them some justice. Opt for a baby blue tee to compliment your shoes and some tailored separates, paired-back with a small pop of colour, say maybe printed bag? Play around with your style but be sure to keep it sleek!
Sporty yet sharp
This sneaker is perfect for adding an element of streetwear to your look. For a chic look, you can try pairing it with a simple grey coat and a cute relaxed jogger pants so that there’s a balance of chic, street and athletic elements to your style.
Power, Unlimited Power
We love that the Star Wars prints in this collection are stylish, distinctive and appealing enough to make a statement. The collection is now available at Bata Suria KLCC and online , give it a try and embrace the force in its dark or light glory!
